Artsy Group meetings are generally held at Elmira Community Center on the “1st Tuesdays” of each month, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

“Artsy Group” Challenge Quilts
Artsy Group designs a challenge of quilts to be displayed together at our Joint Quilt Show in March.
- 2027 Artsy Challenge: Make a quilt on the theme of “Trees.” Maximum size is 36 inches in either direction.
- 2026 Artsy Challenge: 8″ x 32″ Quilts – These can hang either vertically or horizontally. Must be “faced” (not bound). Must contain a bit of black fabric.
- 2025 Artsy Challenge: Recipe Challenge
- 2024 Artsy Challenge: Inspired by the Alamance Rose
[We were honored to have the completed quilts displayed again in a special exhibit at Piedmont Arts in Martinsville, VA (from Nov. 9 to Jan. 11, 2025).]
- 2023 Artsy Challenge: “Blue Stripe” Challenge – Participants were given a strip of solid blue fabric to be incorporated into the quilt from one edge all the way across to the opposite side. Quilts were displayed in such a way that the blue stripe appeared to run continuously across all the quilts on display.
